Toland is a modest garage conversion ADU project in the charming Northeast Los Angeles neighborhood Eagle Rock. Toland ADU takes on converting an existing garage into a studio/ living space tucked away in a fairly complicated up-sloped hillside site. The building itself gently steps upwards into the hillside. It separates the primary living area from the sleeping area with a few short steps. By carving out an exterior living area underneath a shade tree, we expand on a relatively small footprint. The young couple will use space as a studio for editing films and a guest house for visiting family.
